Investment in new perfect binder boosts in house finishing capabilities
Sterling has recently installed a new perfect binding line - the Muller Martini Acoro A7. As with all our equipment, the Acoro represents the ultimate in production technology. With 22 clamps, 16 hoppers, in-line trimming and hot-melt or PUR glue options, the Acoro can produce sizes from sub A6 to oversize A3 at speeds of up to 7,000 copies per hour.
Increased press capacity, following the installation in 2008 of two Heidelberg XL 105, 10 colour presses, means that the volume of multi section work we now undertake has grown rapidly. This includes education prospectuses, product catalogues, annual reports and magazines. It makes sense therefore for us to offer our own, comprehensive perfect binding facility, so we can provide an even more competitive, flexible and environmentally friendly service to customers in these key markets.
This move reinforces Sterling's deep set commitment to ongoing investment in order to maximise efficiency. It also strengthens our ability to offer a genuine single supplier solution to our clients - something that is becoming increasingly popular in the current economic climate.
